"In the year 2000 I was introduced to marquetry, although I had by then produced several pictures I was never happy with the finishing of my work. It wasn't until I joined the Leeds Marquetry Group that I realised that I had done everything right, but I had just used the wrong materials to produce the mirror-like finish that I was looking for. Since then, with help and advice, you soon learn to develop the skills that suit you. It always helps to have a range of natural and dyed veneers as I like to put a little colour into my work." |
