David Cossavello
"My introduction to marquetry started when I was in my early twenties. I purchased a marquetry picture kit at a local joiner's shop; I had caught " The Bug". The first few years I was self-taught through purchases of veneers and kits from hobby shops and by mail. My big break came in 1983 when I joined the Leeds Marquetry Group, after visiting their exhibition at a Leeds museum, and I have been with them ever since, thus making me, I believe, currently one of the longest serving active members of the group.
Over the ensuing years I have gained skills through the help and friendly advice given to me from the club and its members, making marquetry a most enjoyable pastime." 2014 |
